Jon Niese Tries To Get Back to Form in Finale Against Chicago Cubs
National News Source:Bleacher Report - New York Mets - September 5 03:33 AM EDT
For a long time during the bulk of the 2010 season, Mets left-handed rookie Jon Niese was as good as can be. Over his past two starts, he may have run out of steam, having now thrown 148.1 innings in his first full big league season.
The Mets themselves have not had a good road trip, having gone 1-5 so far on their 10-game trek. They've been an awful road team all season long, and can finally sense the end coming, with now only nine road games left.
The Cubs are not a great team, and in fact the... Read More »

RA Dickey or Johan Santana- Who Is the True Mets Ace?

When Johan Santana was brought to New York in the winter of 2008, it was with much fanfare that he would be the savior that brought the Mets some respectability after the collapse of 2007.
During Santana’s tenure as a Met so far, they have not won anything, in fact they are actually a worse performing team than they were in 2007.

Is Josh Thole a Usable Catcher for Fantasy Baseball Owners?

When the Mets let Rod Barajas move across the country to Los Angeles, they effectively handed the everyday job to Josh Thole, the team’s top catching prospect.
The final few weeks of the season will operate as a test of sorts. The Mets need to determine if Thole has what it takes to handle the everyday job in 2011 or if they need to shop in free agency again.

Nickeas: Jenrry Mejia Has Come a Long Way
Blogs Source:MetsBlog.com - September 3 10:59 AM EDT
Posted in Quote"Compared to last year he's come a long, long way...His offspeed stuff for strikes has been tremendous this year. His last four or five outings have been phenomenal. His fastball is where it has been...only it's more consistent both sides of the plate...I really like his curveball. He's getting that over first pitch a lot. I think it's really effective. It's difficult to swing at first pitch for a lot of guys, especially when he's throwing 96 mph, kind of cutting." ~ Mike Nickeas... Read More »

New York Mets Should Consider Jerry Manuel for Managerial Position in 2011
National News Source:Bleacher Report - New York Mets - September 3 02:46 AM EDT
Jerry Manuel gets criticized for many of the Mets' issues on and off the field. Fans get on him for his in-game decisions, which at times is deserved. But what I ask here is that the Mets give Jerry Manuel the opportunity he is owed to manage the team in 2011.Jerry Manuel took over the Mets back in '08 in the middle of the night. The Mets were floundering at 34-35. From the beginning, Manuel made his presence felt when he pulled Jose Reyes from the (first) game when he came up lame running out a... Read More »
